Soles4Souls Collection in March 2020:

The Missions Committee of Christ Church will collect gently worn footwear in March to donate to Soles4Souls. Collection dates are March 1-March 29, 2020, with collection boxes at the Church. All footwear must be bound in pairs with a strong rubber band or by gently tying the laces together. Our collection is only for footwear although Soles4Souls also collects other goods. For more details, go to Soles4Souls.org or contact Jim Rinck, by clicking here.

Soles4Souls is a global not-for-profit institution committed to fighting the devastating impact and perpetuation of poverty. The organization advances its anti-poverty mission by collecting new and used shoes and clothes from individuals, schools, faith-based institutions, civic organizations and corporate partners, then distributing those shoes and clothes both via direct donations to people in need and by provisioning qualified micro-enterprise programs designed to create jobs in poor and disadvantaged communities. Soles4Souls has distributed more than 22 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes to people in 127 countries.

Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Soles4Souls is committed to the highest standards of operating and governance. The organization came under criticism for not adequately explaining the destination of donations. To be clear, about a third of the footwear is provided at no cost and about two thirds sold at low cost to supply micro-enterprise programs such as street or market vendors who work and earn income selling used shoes.

By donating you get a clean closet, pay nothing but a rubber band, and feel good!  If you would like a donation receipt for your tax records, please contact Jim Rinck by clicking here.
