How do I get to Weber Chapel?

From 18th street (the street that passes by the Intermediate School), you will come to a stop sign that intersects at University avenue. Go straight down the small hill and take the first left. Then, take the first left into the parking lot that is marked faculty and staff. Parking in this lot will give our worshippers the most smooth, level walking experience. We will also have parking attendants outside for your assistance.

You will not enter the building from the Main Entrance. You will enter from a side door. After looking over all of the possible entrances and considering the closeness of parking and the control of our welcome, we have decided that this is the best way to enter and exit the building.

After you come into the building, their is an entry way that we might say is like our "narthex". Here, we will have coffee hour snacks and beverages and you are welcome to gather in this space. Please keep all food and beverages in this space and do not take into the auditorium. Directly to the left as I took this picture, there is an entrance to what will likely be our nursery area. We are not ready to have nursery yet, but details to come.

The chapel is breathtaking.

Once we enter the auditorium, there will be many eight sections of seats. Six sections will be roped off so that we can gather in the remaining 2 sections. These sections will be front and center to the stage. Pastor Ryan and our Worship leaders will be on the stage. The rest of us will sit in the seats. Please note that there is a slight slope to the floor in the auditorium. Please proceed with caution.

In a few weeks, we will be ready to gather up our children and youth for Sunday School. Dressing Room A, in the basement level, will be used for our youth. It has mirrored walls and lighted mirrors for performers to prepare for a show.

If asked, the youth would tell you that their favorite Sunday school experience occured when we were displaced and 20 youth squished in my office. I don't think we will have a problem gathering here to study the Word for a few months. Perhaps we will be inspired to do some drama in our learning.

Just down the hall, with restrooms between, is a Multi-Purpose Room. This is where our children will gather for Sunday school. It is big enough for stations. It is carpeted and safe for our little ones.

Susquehanna University is letting us borrow a walkie-talkie system to keep to our Safe Sanctuary requirements and overall communication between our greeters, hosts and teachers.

So, the way I see it, greeters and ushers will still continue the good work. Coffee Hour is still on. We need 4 men and women to stand outside and direct people into the building. This little bit of hospitality will go a long way to our church folk and our guests. We can do this!
